Most of these events are published in Hampshire Wildlife Trust's Wildlife
Diary, a few informal events may be published in the Petersfield Group's
newsletter only. All are listed below.
Sat 5 Jan 2002. Bird walk at Chichester Gravel Pits.
Meet at 10.00 am at Ivy Lake or at 9.15 am sharp at Petersfield railway
station car park at end of Lavant St. for car sharing and lifts. Map ref:

Wed 23 Jan. "Wildlife Friendly Farming" a talk by farmer Chris Cook.
7.30 pm at Herne Farm Leisure Centre, Moggs Mead, Petersfield.

Sat 26 Jan. Arundel Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust,
Meet at 10.00 am at Wildfowl and Wetlands Centre car park near entrance
to centre building or at 9.00 am sharp at Petersfield railway station
car park at end of Lavant St for car sharing and lifts. Entrance charges:
WWT members free on production of membership card; Adult £5.25; Concession
£4.25: children £3.25 (2001 charges they may change for 2002). If group

Sat 2 Feb. Chidham Peninsula to Cobnor Point bird walk.
Meet at 10.00 am at Cobnor Farm car park or at 9.15 am sharp at Petersfield
central car park (Winton Road exit) for car sharing and lifts. The walk

Meet at 10.00 am at Ship Inn public car park at Langstone, next to Hayling

Wed 20 Mar. An informal walk in West Dean Woods for birds, wild daffodils
and other spring flowers.

Sat 27 Apr. Nightingales at Pulborough Brooks RSPB Reserve, West Sussex.
Meet at 10.30 am at the reserve car park (Map ref. TQ 054 170) or at 9.30
sharp at Petersfield station car park (at top of Lavant St.) for car sharing
and lifts. Contact Matthew Sharp 01730 264739. Entrance charges: RSPB
members free on production of membership card, Adult £3.50, Child £1.00;
Concession £2.50 (2000 prices, they may alter for 2001). Arranged by Petersfield

Wed 1 May. An informal walk along the Hayling Billy Line, Hayling Island.

Wed 8 May. An informal walk Ashford Hangers National Nature Reserve
for spring flowers.
Meet at Ashford Farm, Ashford Lane, Steep in car park below reserve. Map

Sun 19 May Reptiles and Amphibians at Woolmer Common.
Meet at 9.00 am at car park by Woolmer Pond beside A325 about ¾ mile N.
E. of Greatham village. (Map ref. SU 785309 ). Leader Herpetological Conservation
Trust Officer. Contact Jill Oakley (01730 266392). The walk will take
two to two and a half hours. Booking essential as numbers limited. It
is possible that the firing ranges may be used by the Army, in which case
the walk will be modified but the meeting place will remain the same.

Thurs 30 May. An informal walk at Noar Hill for flowers and butterflies,
especially Duke of Burgundy
Meet at 10.30 am by the track that leads to the reserve, (SU 738 323);
